S2 E20: DEFENDING OBI-WAN'S CONTROVERSIAL "FROM A CERTAIN POINT OF VIEW" LINE

For this episode, we asked our MTK Patrons what Obi-Wan related topic would they like us to cover, and of course they delivered! We received several amazing answers (which we will cover in future episodes), but the one that we decided to cover this week is to discuss (and defend) Obi-Wan’s famous line from “Empire Strikes Back,” the one that has become rather controversial across the fandom: “from a certain point of view.” Was it really an acceptable explanation to give Luke? What would have happened if Obi-Wan DID tell Luke, plainly, who his father was early on? Would it have changed the course of what we know today? CAN the line be defended at all?
