EPISODE 22: DECONSTRUCTING OBI-WAN'S COSTUME THROUGHOUT THE FILMS

In this episode, we break down costume design and inspiration when it comes to the Jedi uniform and Obi-Wan Kenobi’s costume throughout the films and animations. From medieval to Samurai influences, there are many pieces to a Jedi’s uniform and many historical nods – each of which we’ll break down as we discuss…but what about the more specific changes in Obi-Wan’s Jedi uniform? We’ll discuss how he appears when he begins his tale in The Phantom Menace all the way to what he is wearing in the Original Trilogy and what, if any, symbolism is behind these changes.
