This week we review “Kenobi”, a roughly 18 minute fan film about Obi-Wan Kenobi, and is one of our personal favorites – and what we believe is one of THE best fan films out there. Written by the actor who plays Obi-Wan in the film, Jamie Costa displays his talent and love for Star Wars throughout this brief but wonderful short feature. The story is set several years after Revenge of the Sith, where Obi-Wan remains haunted by Anakin Skywalker while living on Tatooine. Every time he looks at his friend’s old lightsaber, he struggles internally with how he must protect Skywalker’s son. The ending of this film is beautiful, and really rings true to the spirit of Kenobi and his bond with Luke Skywalker. And – we even get a surprise cameo by James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Kenobi in The Clone Wars! We discuss the storyline, the fantastic cinematography, and even hit a few of the things we didn’t like (though that list is *very* short).
